Jenny Rebecca

“When we see joy in the eyes of those we love, we know it is the reflection of the God within us looking back at us and smiling.”

— Let Go or Be Dragged

When my niece was born, my sister gave me the honor of naming my godchild. My favorite song was Barbra Streisand’s, Jenny Rebecca. I danced through the halls of the hospital with my boom box singing, “Jenny Rebecca, four days old, how do you like the world so far?”

Some years later, I wrote a children’s book and used her name as my nom de plume. Happy Birthday Jesus, The Very First Holiday, now known as The Forever Christmas Miracle, is by Jenny Rebecca.

I always write the ending first. When I get to the end, I may want to go further, but at least I’ll be traveling in the right direction.

So, I wrote the ending to The Forever Christmas Miracle, and when I got there, I could not get up. I was frozen in front of the typewriter. I closed my eyes, put my hands over the keys, and began to play a concerto.

When I opened my eyes and read the words on the page, I felt the power of inspiration. I was a vessel through which creativity flowed.
